Egyptian Saga, Part II

Now that the Whee's interest in all things Egypt has been piqued, the projects and experiments abound. The latest is 'Egyptian Bread".

It's a simple concoction of flour, water, and salt. Except that by the time Whee was through with it, it had cinnamon, ginger, and some unidentified ingredients. It also provided hours of tactile entertainment.

Mix, knead, and let set overnight. I was pretty certain that by the time it had been child-handled, left covered overnight, and baked for thirty minutes, it might have only three uses:

1. Good as bricks to build pyramids and monuments for pharoahs.
2. Good for lobbing at the heads of pursuing soldiers when you're in an exodus from their country.
3. Lashed together and used as a raft in case the sea in your path didn't part...

The Whee considered its embalming properties, or as possible old world make-up...

But in the end, I was pleasantly surprised. Crunchy on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside. Food fit for a long journey. Wholly Moses, this is good stuff!
